Information on Author Sue Grafton

Authors present a unique perspective about their lives because they frequently have faced obstacles and tragedies that their readers can relate to.  While some authors choose to express themselves with non-fictional accounts of real world situations, others find that fictional stories are better suited for their writing talents.  Author Sue Grafton chose the later category and her mystery novels are mostly born out of ideas about her private life that she wrote down from a female perspective.

The website http://www.imysteryread.com contains an article giving an account of Sue Grafton that gives readers a perspective on her life, including educational successes and career failures that are very easy to relate to.  The website also contains articles about other authors that readers will find both interesting and educational.

Has John McCain Ever Really Gotten It Right?

There are times when Senator McCain is too angry to think logically, and that is something that voters definitely do not like!  There is a big difference between determination and out-and-out anger over an issue, so what voters sense in listening to Senator McCain is that his message is fragmented with incomplete descriptions of his policies.  That does not rest well with older and undecided voters.

Why would voters support having their medical payments taxed?  And why would older voters support cuts in their medicaid and medicare benefits?  These are issues that have a very negative impact on voter's minds because medical care is already being downsized and costing taxpayers more and more money under the Bush Administration's "trickle down" economic policies.

What doesn't seem to change over time with Republican Administrations is their insistence upon widening the gap between middle-class workers and business policies.  Oh, sure, both George Bush and John McCain would love to have us agree with tax incentives and open-door policies aimed at small and medium-sized businesses .... but exam closer and we find that Republican policy favors larger companies downsizing in the United States; only to have those jobs go overseas and lost forever!!

Trickle-down economics then says that it is the small and medium-sized businesses that will prosper and create new jobs here in the United States to replace those jobs that are lost to overseas investment.  Look at these "new jobs" and workers find them to pay less, offer less benefits, and offer no job security as the economy bounces around with ups and downs!!  Who pays for these economic policies?!??  You and I do!!  You and I find out that our $15/hr. jobs go somewhere else, along with the benefits ...... only to be replaced by $9/hr. jobs with bare-bones benefits!!!!  Job security?!?!  Forget it with Trickle-down economics because states have instituted "fire-at-will" laws that allow companies to simply fire workers for little or no reason at all!!!

And we wonder what has happened to the buying power of the middle-class family?!!!  Burdened with debt because they cannot survive without credit cards because they have gone years without a salary increase and watched as their benefits have eroded and forced to pay higher premiums yearly.

So, why are we close to placing Democratic congresses and presidential administrations in power in the United States?  Look at the record of the Republicans since 1980 and then ask yourself this question: "Am I and my family better off today than I was 25 years ago?"  For most of us, the answer is obvious!!  Hello, Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi, and Harry Reid for the next four years!!!
