The longer Congress takes to debate this so-called "historic" piece of legislation the more sense I think that they have! I mean, why shouldn't our elected officials question, criticize, and alter a proposal that threatens to add nearly one trillion dollars to my children's public debt that both they and their children will have to deal with?! To me, this sets a terrible precedent in the history of our government and borders on socialism that threatens our individual rights and freedoms in this country!!
And why, for goodness sake, should we all simply believe that a group of bureaucrats in Washington have the best answer for this Wall Street debacle? I don't really care if both Paulson and Bernanke are the smartest economists that the world has ever produced!! Fed chairman Alan Greenspan warned Congress over 5 years ago of this impending meltdown and the reasons why it would most certainly occur. Where were Paulson and Bernanke 5 years ago? Why hasn't the Bush administration taken action before now, when it's obvious to everyone on Main Street that corruption and scandel will most certainly result from this mess on an unprecedented scale!!!!!!
I say NO, NO, NO! Let these mishandled corporations go bankrupt and let the Capitalistic system take care of them!!! Mismanagement and down right corruption ......... and Bush is asking ME to pay for it?? NO WAY!!!!
