In most cases a person knows when he/she is in a good relationship because the two of you generally see eye-to-eye on the most fundamental aspects of personality, ethics, morals, and issues of the day. Getting to that point in a relationship means that both people have learned to be themselves and, most generally, have a very good self-esteem. There are a number of stages to finding and developing a relationship with the right person, or ‘soul mate’. The website http://www.mateforfamilies.com contains a number of articles discussing the stages of a successful relationship and ideas that the reader should think about if they are seeking advice or simply needing an awareness of these ideas. The articles that appear on this website are well organized and written so that the reader’s valuable time is well spent.

Adults who become responsible for their aging parents need to be educated on living alternatives before assuming responsibility for their care. A good portion of the elderly are against any alternative that forces them away from their home and into an assisted living facility. In some cases the responsible family member(s) never learns of this wish and assumes that their choice will be agreed to by the elderly family member. This is not always the case and stories come to our attention of a medical professional providing assisted suicide to an elderly person who chooses to die rather than go into an assisted care residence.
I have explained my wishes very clearly to my children in the event that this choice ever has to be made by one or all of them. It is our duty and responsibility to make sure that our chosen family member(s) is aware of our decision and educated well enough on choices that will eventually have to be made.
